Pollachi Municipality Celebrates 78th Independence Day with Flag Hoisting and Awards

Pollachi Municipality Chairman Shyamala Navaneetha Krishnan hoisted the national flag and honored students and officials during the 78th Independence Day celebrations on August 15th.



Coimbatore: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the nation, and Pollachi Municipality marked the occasion with a special event. Municipality Chairman Shyamala Navaneetha Krishnan hoisted the national flag and paid respects to it, kickstarting the celebrations.

Following the flag hoisting, school students sang the national anthem and paid their respects to the tricolor. The municipality took this opportunity to recognize academic excellence by presenting certificates and prizes to students who scored high marks in schools within the Pollachi Municipality limits.



The celebration also honored municipal officials and employees who had performed exceptionally well in various departments. Certificates of appreciation were presented to these hardworking individuals for their dedication and service.

In a first for the Coimbatore district, Pollachi Municipality introduced a walkie-talkie system to facilitate quick communication among officials. Municipality Chairman Shyamala Navaneetha Krishnan, Commissioner Ganesan, and Deputy Chairman Gautaman inaugurated this new communication system by handing over walkie-talkies to the staff.

The Independence Day event saw active participation from municipal councilors, members of the public, and municipal employees, all coming together to celebrate the nation's freedom. The introduction of the walkie-talkie system marks a step towards more efficient governance and quicker response times in municipal operations.
