Tirupur: The Sainik School in Amaravathi Nagar near Udumalpet, operating under the Ministry of Defence, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event was marked by a series of activities that showcased the students' talents and reinforced the spirit of nationalism.
School Principal Captain Manigandan hoisted the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem by all staff and students.
After the flag hoisting ceremony, the Principal and Vice Principal Deepti Upadhyay paid floral tributes to the school's memorial, the Amar Chakra.
The students then presented a captivating dance performance.
Students from classes 8 and 9 delivered speeches on the themes "India at 78" and "India on the World Stage." The school's choir group enthralled the audience with patriotic songs, while students from classes 9 and 11 performed a thought-provoking mime about independence that captivated everyone present.
Students from classes 7, 8, and 9 recited poetry in Hindi, expressing their patriotism. In her speech, Rani commemorated the freedom fighters and their role in the independence struggle. The Headmaster, in his concluding address, paid homage to the great leaders who fought for India's independence, remembering their sacrifices and selfless efforts.
He emphasized India's rapid growth in various sectors including economic development, science, agriculture, medicine, and healthcare. The Headmaster urged students to understand and imbibe 12 key qualities in their lives and work towards a progressive nation.
