Congress Celebrates Rajiv Gandhi's 80th Birth Anniversary with Annadanam in Anamalai, Pollachi

Anamalai Urban Congress Committee commemorated former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's 80th birth anniversary with floral tributes and annadanam at Anamalai Triangle on August 20, 2023.



Coimbatore: The Anamalai Urban Congress Committee celebrated the 80th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi with a special event at Anamalai Triangle on Sunday. The celebration, led by Anamalai Town President Adam, included floral tributes to Rajiv Gandhi's portrait and distribution of sweets and meals to the public.

The event began with party members paying their respects to the late leader by garlanding his portrait and offering flowers. Congress party officials and workers gathered to remember Rajiv Gandhi's contributions to the nation and his vision for a progressive India.



Following the tributes, the organizers distributed sweets to the attendees and arranged for annadanam (free meal service) for the general public. This gesture was in line with the Congress party's tradition of social service and community engagement on significant occasions.

Several prominent local Congress leaders participated in the event, including Zonal Chairman Jawahar Pandiyan, Boopathi, Shajahan, Ilango, Nasser, Kalavathi, Thesinguraja, Jaganathan, Basheer, and Abu. Their presence underscored the unity and strength of the party at the grassroots level.

The celebration of Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary in Anamalai reflects the continued reverence for the former Prime Minister within the Congress party and his enduring legacy in Indian politics.
