Coimbatore: Actor Vijay, who launched the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party in February, took another significant step in his political journey by unveiling the party flag at the party headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai.

The event, which took place on Thursday, also included the release of the party anthem.

Vijay, addressing the gathering, expressed his excitement about the day's significance. He reminisced about announcing the party name in February and acknowledged the anticipation among his supporters for the first state conference. He assured that preparations for the conference were progressing well and promised to announce the date and time soon.

The TVK leader emphasized the importance of the flag unveiling, stating, "I feel proud to introduce the flag before all the people of Tamil Nadu who reside in my heart. Until now, we worked for ourselves. From now on, we will strengthen ourselves as a party and work together for Tamil Nadu and the upliftment of its people."

Vijay hinted at the historical significance behind the flag, mentioning concepts like "calm after the storm" and "roar." He promised to explain the party's ideology, action plans, and the meaning behind the flag design at the upcoming state conference.

The newly unveiled TVK flag features red and yellow colors, with twin elephants and a circular emblem containing a Vaagai flower in the center. Vijay urged his supporters to celebrate the flag's introduction while adhering to legal guidelines and maintaining friendly relations with everyone.

Concluding his speech, Vijay said, "I don't see this just as a party flag. I see it as a flag of victory for the future generations of Tamil Nadu. I know you will hoist this flag in your hearts and homes without me telling you to do so. Good things will happen. Victory is certain."

With the introduction of the party flag, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has taken a crucial step towards establishing itself as a full-fledged political party in Tamil Nadu.
