A five-day awareness program on government welfare schemes is set to be held in Coimbatore from August 27 to 31, organized by the Central Bureau of Communication under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Coimbatore: The Central Bureau of Communication, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, is set to organize a five-day awareness program on government welfare schemes in Coimbatore. The event will take place from August 27 to August 31 at the Police Community Hall on Avinashi Road.
The program aims to create awareness about various issues including protection and education for girl children, prevention of child marriages, Digital India, Skill India, and National Space Day. The event will feature a grand exhibition, cultural programs, seminars, various competitions, and stalls from government departments.
A press meet regarding this five-day awareness program was held today (August 26) at the Police Community Hall on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore. Annadurai, Additional Director General of the Central Bureau of Communication & Press Information Bureau, Chennai, addressed the media, stating, "The Central Bureau of Communication under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been conducting awareness programs throughout Tamil Nadu. As part of this initiative, this five-day awareness program is set to begin in Coimbatore tomorrow."
He further added, "The inauguration ceremony tomorrow will be attended by notable figures including Coimbatore Member of Parliament Ganapathi Rajkumar, Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, the District Collector, the District Postal Superintendent, and the District Project Officer of the Integrated Child Development Scheme, among others."
Annadurai highlighted that the awareness program will showcase explanatory images about National Space Day to attract students. Information about new criminal laws will also be presented. He emphasized that despite the government implementing welfare schemes for all sections of society, many people are unaware of these initiatives. "This is why we organize such awareness programs," he explained.
The official also mentioned that direct awareness programs will be conducted in the evening at various locations including S Mettupalayam, Sulur, Kamatchiuram, Seeranapalayam, Valukkuparai, and Othakalmandapam.
"We are organizing this five-day awareness program at a cost of 12 lakh rupees. Entry to this event is free of charge. We will be distributing handbooks containing information from various departments. Aadhaar corrections will also be facilitated during the event. We will provide guidance on higher education and entrepreneurship for school and college students. We aim to create awareness about self-protection for girl children. We expect around 500 people to participate each day during this awareness program," Annadurai concluded.
