Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Development Projects in Southern Zone

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted an on-site inspection of various development projects in the southern zone of Coimbatore on August 29, 2024, reviewing progress and quality of ongoing constructions.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted an extensive inspection of various development projects underway in the southern zone of Coimbatore Corporation on August 29, 2024.



During the inspection, the Commissioner visited several construction sites, including an Anganwadi center in Selvapuram North 10th Street, Ward 78, being built at a cost of Rs. 5.90 lakhs from the Corporation's general fund.





He also examined another Anganwadi center in the North Housing Unit area, funded by the Thondamuthur MLA constituency development fund at Rs. 15 lakhs.



The tour included a visit to the urban health sub-center being constructed in S.A. Garden area in Ward 79,





And the ongoing work of setting boundary stones along both banks of the Noyyal River in Perur Telungupalayam area.



In Ward 89, the Commissioner inspected the construction of a homeless shelter on N.D.P. Street in Sundakkamuthur, valued at Rs. 1.60 crores.



Further, Prabhakaran reviewed the additional classroom construction at the Corporation Primary School in Ramasettipalam, a project worth Rs. 60 lakhs under the State Finance Commission scheme.



He also examined the retaining wall construction from Balamurugan Temple junction to S.S. Gardens on Sugunapuram East Main Road in Ward 92, a Rs. 92 lakh project under the Namakku Naame scheme.



The Commissioner's inspection tour also covered the additional building constructions at urban primary health centers in Ram Nagar, Idayarpalayam (Ward 93),





And Thondamuthur (Ward 88), each valued at Rs. 60 lakhs.



He also visited the ongoing construction of a yoga center in Gandhi Nagar, Pollachi Main Road (Ward 98), costing Rs. 30 lakhs from the general fund, and an Animal Birth Control (ABC) center being built at a cost of Rs. 65 lakhs in the Vellalore dump yard premises (Ward 99).

Throughout the inspection, Commissioner Prabhakaran instructed the concerned officials to ensure speedy and quality execution of the construction works. The inspection was accompanied by Deputy Mayor R. Vetri Selvan, Assistant Commissioner (General) Ilangovan, Assistant Engineer Kanagaraj, several ward councilors, and other corporation officials.
