The ceremony began with a welcome address by Pachaiyappan, the trustee of Aliyar Arivu Thirukovil. Couples from various regions participated in the event, exchanging garlands and then presenting fruits to husbands and flowers to wives, symbolizing mutual respect and appreciation.
