Tirupur: Free special medical camps under the 'Kalaignar Varumun Kappom' scheme were conducted today (August 31) in various areas of Palladam, including Arivoli Nagar and Nathagoundenpalayam, which fall under the Coimbatore parliamentary constituency.

Coimbatore Member of Parliament Ganapathi Rajkumar and Tirupur South MLA Selvaraj participated in these free special medical camps, distributing welfare scheme benefits to pregnant women and the general public.

Health officials, local body representatives, and DMK functionaries were also present at these camps.

Speaking at the camp, Coimbatore MP Ganapathi Rajkumar stated that Tamil Nadu is a state widely discussed at the national level. He mentioned that Chief Ministers of other states are inquiring about and implementing schemes similar to those in Tamil Nadu. Rajkumar highlighted that over thirty thousand crores are being spent on the school education department alone, resulting in many students from villages working in countries like America and England. He termed this as the Dravidian model government.

The medical camp offered consultations in general medicine, cardiology, diabetology, and obstetrics. ECG tests and scans were also conducted.

Hundreds of people from the general public attended these camps to receive medical advice.
