Actor Karthi expressed his deep-rooted connection to Coimbatore at the music launch of 'Meiyazhagan' held at Codissia Complex. The event marked his first major appearance in the city post-marriage.

Coimbatore: The music launch of the upcoming Tamil film 'Meiyazhagan' took place at the Codissia Complex in Coimbatore, drawing attention to actor Karthi's strong emotional ties to the city. The event, which is part of the film's promotional activities ahead of its September 27 release, saw the presence of the movie's cast and crew including Karthi, Sri Divya, Arvind Swami, and director Prem Kumar.

Speaking to reporters, Karthi shared, "This is my first major event in Coimbatore after my marriage. The connection this city has with me is similar to what the film 'Meiyazhagan' talks about. That's why it made sense to have this event here. All our roots and relatives are here, which is why we wanted to host the film's event in this city."

'Meiyazhagan', directed by Prem Kumar and produced by Suriya and Jyothika, features Karthi and Arvind Swami in lead roles, with Sri Divya as the female lead. The film also stars Raj Kiran and Jayaprakash in pivotal roles, with music composed by Govind Vasantha.

Other supporting actors and singers present at the event revealed that the film centers around Jallikattu. They mentioned that while the movie's theme is based on Coimbatore, it was shot in Thanjavur. They also expressed confidence that the songs from 'Meiyazhagan' would become staples at future Jallikattu events.

The music launch in Coimbatore not only served as a promotional event for 'Meiyazhagan' but also highlighted the cultural significance of the region in the film's narrative. With its focus on Jallikattu and local themes, the movie appears to be deeply rooted in Tamil culture and traditions.
