Coimbatore: In a move to enhance the city's green cover and public amenities, a reserved site at GV Residency is being transformed into a lush green space. The project, which involves clearing construction waste and developing the area for public use, is being overseen by DMK's Singanallur constituency in-charge and party's environmental wing deputy secretary, Mr. Manisundar.
On Thursday, Coimbatore Member of Parliament, Mr. Ganapathy Rajkumar, visited the site to inspect the ongoing work. He observed the field operations being carried out under the leadership of Mr. Manisundar, along with Dr. Pradeep, the medical team organizer, and Mr. Jawahar Vellingiri, the deputy organizer of the environmental wing.

During his visit, MP Ganapathy Rajkumar provided valuable advice to the concerned officials, urging them to expedite the development process. The parliamentarian emphasized the importance of creating more green spaces in the city, which not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also contribute to better air quality and provide recreational areas for residents.
The transformation of this reserved site from a dumping ground for construction waste to a vibrant green space is expected to significantly benefit the local community. Once completed, the area will offer a much-needed lung space in the densely populated GV Residency locality, promoting a healthier and more sustainable urban environment.

Local residents have expressed their enthusiasm for this initiative, as it addresses the long-standing issue of improper waste disposal while simultaneously creating a public space for relaxation and community gatherings. The project is seen as a positive step towards improving the quality of life in the neighborhood and aligns with the broader goals of urban greening and sustainable development in Coimbatore.
