According to police reports, three individuals intercepted the student and demanded his mobile phone. When the boy refused, the assailants stabbed him with a knife and fled the scene with his phone.
The Sulur police, upon receiving information about the incident, rushed to the spot and began their investigation. After examining CCTV footage from the area, they managed to identify and apprehend two suspects: Iyappan (29) and Tamilselvan (22).
The arrested individuals were produced before the court and subsequently remanded to the Coimbatore Central Prison. Meanwhile, the police are actively searching for the third suspect who managed to escape.
