'People are on our side, regardless of who enters politics,' says Minister M.P. Saminathan on Vijay's political entry

Tamil Development Minister M.P. Saminathan addressed reporters in Pollachi about actor Vijay's potential political entry, expressing confidence in DMK's public support despite new political entrants.

Coimbatore: Tamil Development and Information Minister M.P. Saminathan has responded to questions about actor Vijay's potential entry into politics, stating that the DMK remains unfazed by new political entrants.

The minister's comments came during a DMK general body meeting for the Pollachi South Union, held at a private marriage hall near Thippampatti in Pollachi. The meeting, chaired by District Secretary Padmanabhan, saw the participation of numerous party functionaries, including union and branch secretaries.

When asked about Vijay's possible political debut, Saminathan said, "In a democratic country, we have no objections or regrets if anyone wants to start a party. At the same time, DMK is receiving increased votes. The welfare schemes implemented during the past three years of DMK rule have strengthened the Chief Minister's hand and gained affection among the public, especially women."

The minister expressed confidence in the DMK's position, stating, "People are ready to vote for the DMK alliance. Therefore, we are not worried about anything. The people are on our side." He emphasized that the party's focus remains on its achievements and public support rather than potential political rivals.

During the meeting, party officials thanked those who worked diligently in the last parliamentary elections and provided various suggestions on how to campaign effectively for DMK candidates in the upcoming assembly elections.
