MP Karti Chidambaram, attending a wedding in Coimbatore, emphasized the need for biannual foreign investment trips by the Chief Minister and supported the Formula 4 race in Chennai for global attention.

Coimbatore: Karti Chidambaram, Member of Parliament, advocated for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to undertake foreign trips twice a year to attract investments and expressed support for the Formula 4 car race in Chennai. These remarks were made after attending a wedding ceremony of a Congress party functionary's son in Coimbatore.

Speaking to reporters after blessing the newlyweds at the wedding of Sathyaseelan and Preethi, children of Congress functionary Mohan Raj and Kausalya from Madhuranagar, Pannimadai near Thudiyalur, Coimbatore, Karti Chidambaram stated, "It is essential for the Chief Minister to travel abroad and secure investments. He can even go two or three times a year, which I welcome. This can potentially create numerous job opportunities."

Regarding the Formula 4 race in Chennai, Chidambaram said, "Events like the car race help put Chennai on the global map, making it a recognizable city worldwide. I welcome this initiative." He also addressed the issue of Cooum River cleaning, mentioning that the Mayor had reported spending several crores on the project. "I have requested a comprehensive white paper on this. We need to verify if the reported expenditure is accurate, understand why the river remains polluted despite cleanup efforts, and determine what measures should be taken to rectify the situation," he added.

Chidambaram also dismissed allegations of Tamil imposition in Tamil Nadu, stating that no such forced implementation of the language exists in the state.
