Woman Impersonating Police Officer Caught at Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple

Anaimalai police are investigating a woman who posed as a constable and managed crowd control during the Amavasya festival at Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple on Monday.

Coimbatore: The Anaimalai police are conducting an investigation into a woman who impersonated a police constable and engaged in crowd control activities at the Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple during the Amavasya festival on Monday.

The temple witnessed a large gathering of devotees for the Amavasya festival. Police personnel were deployed for security and crowd management. Among them, a woman dressed in a police constable's uniform was observed managing the crowd in the VIP queue.

Local police officers on duty grew suspicious of the woman's activities and questioned her. Upon investigation, it was revealed that she was an impostor. The woman was then taken to the police station for further inquiry.

During the interrogation, the woman identified herself as Reeta, 34, from Krishnagiri. She claimed that her actions were motivated by her passion for police work, which led her to don the uniform and perform duties at the temple.

The Anaimalai police are continuing their investigation into the incident to determine the full extent of her actions and any potential legal implications of impersonating a law enforcement officer.
