Udumalaipet residents are alarmed as masked individuals armed with weapons roam the streets at night, committing petty thefts. CCTV footage reveals their brazen activities, sparking concern among locals.

Coimbatore: The peaceful nights of Udumalaipet in Tiruppur district have been disrupted by a series of unsettling incidents. Masked individuals, armed with weapons, have been spotted roaming the streets under the cover of darkness, leading to a surge in petty thefts over the past few months.

Areas such as Aiyalumeenatchi Nagar, SS Colony, MM Layout, Veluchamy Nagar, Sankar Nagar, Thirukumaran Nagar, and Napoleon Nagar have been particularly affected by these nocturnal activities. Residents report that these mysterious figures operate with impunity, engaging in small-scale thefts and fleeing when confronted.

Despite the installation of CCTV cameras as per police advice, the masked individuals seem undeterred. They continue to move freely through residential areas, showing little concern for surveillance measures. The recent release of CCTV footage showing these masked intruders has sent shockwaves through the community.

The police have yet to make any arrests in connection with these incidents, leaving residents feeling vulnerable and frustrated. In response to the growing concern, locals are urging law enforcement to intensify their night patrols and take decisive action to apprehend these mysterious criminals.

The emergence of this footage has created a sense of urgency among the public, who are now calling for increased police presence and more effective measures to ensure their safety during the night hours. As the community remains on high alert, authorities face mounting pressure to resolve this unsettling situation and restore peace to the streets of Udumalaipet.
