Coimbatore: The Puliyakulam Mundhi Vinayagar temple in Coimbatore is witnessing a surge of devotees since early morning as the deity is adorned with a royal decoration featuring 40 kg of sandalwood paste and 2 tons of flowers for Vinayagar Chaturthi.
As Vinayagar Chaturthi is being celebrated across various locations with colorful Vinayagar idols installed by the public, the Puliyakulam Mundhi Vinayagar temple, home to one of the tallest Vinayagar statues in Asia, has been decorated elaborately for special pujas.
For today's Vinayagar Chaturthi, the Puliyakulam Mundhi Vinayagar has been adorned with 40 kg of sandalwood paste and two tons of flowers in a royal decoration. Early morning special abhishekam was performed using 16 types of aromatic substances and abhishekam materials. Following this, numerous devotees have been visiting to worship Vinayagar. Annadanam (free food distribution) is also being provided today.
Arrangements have been made for devotees to stand in queues to worship Vinayagar on this auspicious day. Traffic diversions have been implemented in the area, and police officers are engaged in security duties.
Not only from Coimbatore but devotees from neighboring districts are also flocking to the Puliyakulam Vinayagar temple since early morning to offer their prayers on Vinayagar Chaturthi.
