Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Development Projects in East Zone

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS inspected various ongoing development projects in the East Zone areas on September 9, 2024, reviewing progress and issuing directives for timely completion.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted an on-site inspection of various ongoing development projects in the East Zone areas of Coimbatore Corporation on September 9, 2024.



During the inspection, the Commissioner visited the Urban Health Center being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.48 crore under the 15th Central Finance Commission grant in Neelikonampalayam area of Ward 54.



He also examined the new public toilet being built at a cost of Rs 25 lakh under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 in the Gegasia area of Ward 24.



Additionally, he inspected the shelter for the urban homeless being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.80 crore on Pattanam Road, Kamaraj Nagar in Ward 57.



The Commissioner instructed the concerned engineers to complete these works quickly and with high quality.



He then proceeded to inspect the Solid Waste Management Center operating in Sinthu Nagar, Ondipudur, Ward 57.



He inquired about the center's operations and examined the non-biodegradable waste stored in the area, directing the concerned officer to remove it immediately. The Commissioner also visited the Animal Birth Control Center for stray dogs functioning within the same complex.



Earlier, the Commissioner instructed the relevant engineer to prepare a project estimate for constructing a new link road from Kalappatti, Saravanampatti Road to NGP College in Ward 8 under the "Ungal Thoguthiyil Muthalamaichar" scheme.





He also inspected the Urban Wellness Center being built at a cost of Rs 1.20 crore in Singanallur, Aanaiangadu Road area of Ward 61, along with an Anganwadi center being constructed using MLA Constituency Development Funds.





Finally, the Commissioner visited and examined the sewage treatment plant set up at a cost of Rs 4.50 crore under the 15th Finance Commission grant scheme within the premises of Singanallur Tank on Trichy Road.

The inspection was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Muthusamy, Executive Engineer Karuppasamy, Ward Councilors Bakyam, Vijayakumar, and Santhamani, Assistant Executive Engineer Rajesh Kanna, Zonal Health Officer Vijayakumar, Assistant Engineers Ganesan, Kumar, Muthukumar, Jagadeeswari, Sanitary Inspectors Jeevamurugaraj, Murugesan, and other Corporation officials.
