Fatal Car Accident Near Mettupalayam: Driver Perishes in Fiery Crash

A speeding car crashed into a bridge near Mettupalayam on Annur Road, bursting into flames. The driver, trapped inside, tragically lost his life in the inferno.


Coimbatore: A tragic incident occurred near Mettupalayam on the night of June 9th, when a speeding car crashed into a bridge on the Annur Road, resulting in a fatal fire that claimed the driver's life.

The accident took place around midnight on the Mettupalayam-Annur Main Road, a crucial route known for high-speed traffic. The car, traveling at high speed, collided with a bridge near a cold storage facility in the Thentirupathi four-road area. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and plummet into a ditch.



Unexpectedly, the car burst into flames immediately after the crash. The driver, trapped in the driver's seat, was unable to escape as the fire engulfed the vehicle. Tragically, he perished at the scene, his body severely burned in the intense blaze.

Upon receiving the information, a fire brigade team led by Mettupalayam Fire Station Officer Balasubdaram rushed to the spot. They battled to extinguish the flames, which had begun to spread to nearby houses. The firefighters took swift action to bring the fire under control and prevent further damage.

Police officials also arrived at the scene promptly. They recovered the deceased's body and sent it to Mettupalayam Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. The victim was identified as Naveen Kumar, a resident of Govindanur near Sirumugai.

This incident has caused a significant stir in the area. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident and are working to determine the exact cause of the crash and subsequent fire.
