World Electric Vehicle Day Awareness Rally at Coimbatore Race Course

An awareness rally was held at Coimbatore Race Course to mark World Electric Vehicle Day. The District Collector, Police Commissioner, and Corporation Commissioner flagged off the rally, which featured over 50 electric vehicles and 200 participants.


Coimbatore: An electric vehicle awareness rally was held at the Coimbatore Race Course area to commemorate World Electric Vehicle Day. Every year, September 9 is observed as World Electric Vehicle Day. To mark this occasion and raise public awareness about the benefits of electric vehicles, a rally was organized yesterday in the Coimbatore Race Course area.

District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, and Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran flagged off the rally. The event, organized by SSEM Coimbatore, aimed to promote the future widespread use of electric vehicles and create public awareness about their benefits.



More than 50 electric vehicles and over 200 participants took part in the rally. The procession began at the Income Tax Office at Race Course and concluded at the same location. This marks the third time SSEM has conducted this electric vehicle rally.

The event featured a display of the 'Puzhi' car, made famous by the Kalki movie, designed by Mahindra - Jayam Auto. This car attracted significant attention from the spectators. Through this awareness rally, the public was educated about the importance and utility of electric vehicles.

The rally successfully highlighted the significance of electric vehicles and their usage, creating a greater understanding among the general public about this eco-friendly mode of transportation.
