MLA Vanathi Srinivasan Expresses Condolences on the Demise of CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury

Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan expressed her condolences on Facebook for the passing of CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on September 12, highlighting his contributions to Indian politics and communist movement.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan expressed her condolences on her Facebook page on September 12 for the passing of Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. She stated that she was deeply saddened to learn about Yechury's death due to ill health.

Vanathi Srinivasan highlighted Yechury's political journey, which began with his involvement in the student movement. She noted that Yechury, who excelled as an outstanding student leader, played a significant role in the growth of the Communist Party. The MLA also mentioned his substantial contributions in the Rajya Sabha.

Praising Yechury's oratory skills, Vanathi Srinivasan said he had the ability to convey complex ideas in a simple manner. She recalled the anti-Emergency protests against Indira Gandhi, which brought many young leaders to the forefront of national politics, with Sitaram Yechury being one among them.

The Coimbatore South MLA concluded her message by extending her deepest condolences to Sitaram Yechury's family, relatives, and members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) who are mourning his loss.
