Coimbatore to Operate 75 Additional Buses for Extended Holiday Period

Coimbatore Transport Corporation announces 75 extra buses from September 14-17 to manage the holiday rush. The move aims to accommodate travelers heading to various districts during the long weekend and festivals.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Transport Corporation has announced the operation of 75 additional buses from September 14 to 17, to cater to the increased passenger traffic during the extended holiday period. This decision comes in response to the anticipated surge in travelers due to the weekend, auspicious dates, full moon day, and Miladi Nabi celebrations.

Coimbatore, known for its diverse population of both locals and outsiders, sees a daily influx of thousands of people from various districts and the neighboring state of Kerala. These individuals come to the city for education, employment, medical needs, and other purposes. To meet the transportation demands of this vast population, bus services play a crucial role.

During continuous holidays and festival seasons, bus stations in Coimbatore typically witness overwhelming crowds of people traveling to their hometowns. To alleviate congestion and ensure comfortable journeys for passengers, the transport corporation routinely operates special buses during such periods.

The announcement, made on September 13, states that these additional buses will supplement the existing route services to destinations like Madurai, Theni, Trichy, and Salem. The Coimbatore Transport Corporation's statement further elaborates that the special bus services will run from September 14 to 16 for the weekend and auspicious dates, and on September 17 for the full moon day and Miladi Nabi.

This measure is aimed at managing the crowd effectively during the continuous holiday period. The transport corporation encourages the public to utilize these additional services for a pleasant journey to their respective destinations.
