Coimbatore: The AIADMK celebrated the 116th birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna by garlanding his statue in Coimbatore. Former Minister SP Velumani led AIADMK members in a procession from the party office to pay respects to the statues of former Chief Ministers Anna, MGR, and Jayalalithaa on Avinashi Road.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, SP Velumani said, "On Anna's birth anniversary, we pledge to win over 200 constituencies in the upcoming assembly elections and make Edappadi Palaniswami the Chief Minister again. The people are waiting for more development projects in Coimbatore district, which has not seen any significant schemes under the current DMK government."

Velumani highlighted the various projects implemented during Edappadi Palaniswami's tenure as Chief Minister, including road improvements, bridges, and the Athikadavu-Avinashi water scheme. He emphasized that the people are eagerly waiting for Edappadi Palaniswami to return as Chief Minister to bring more welfare schemes.

The former minister also extended Onam greetings to the Kerala population residing in Coimbatore district, acknowledging their long-standing support for the AIADMK since MGR's time. "On behalf of AIADMK, Edappadi Palaniswami, and ourselves, we convey our Onam wishes to all the people here," Velumani concluded.
