Rotary club of Coimbatore conducts seminar on the glorious past of our nation on the 12th and 13th of May


India is a country and with an admirable history and culture. Monuments and temples are spread across the length and breadth of this country. They boast of the rich heritage  of our nation. Knowing about our past glory and appreciating the art of the past must be instilled in every individual.

 

Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis is committed to propagating the rich culture and heritage of this nation. They aim at creating awareness of our past amongst the younger generation, so that they understand, appreciate and preserve them for the future.

 

They had organized one such seminar for two days covering the great heritage of the Cholas a few years back and the same was well received by the public.

This year they are organizing a seminar on Pallavas, Pandyas, Chalukyas and Rastrakutas. This covers the time frame of around 400 years starting from the 6thcenturyto the 9th century. These four great dynasties had ruled over the whole of south India, and have contributed much to the development of the temple architecture and socio economic growth of this Country.

 

This seminar is being organized for 2 days on the 12th and 13th of May 2017 at SNR College Auditorium from 9 AM to 6 PM The two day seminar will be spread over 13 different session and will be addressed by very eminent scholars, covering various subjects which will be presented as a slide show. Dr. R Nagaswamy will be the chairperson for this event. Great scholars like Dr U Deglurkar from Pune, Dr MS Krishnamoorthy from Mysore, Dr. E. Shivanagi Reddy from Vijayawada, Dr. Chitra Madhavan, Dr. Venkatraman, Dr. T Satyamoorthy and Prof. Swaminathan will be taking part in the seminar.

 

This seminar is open for the public to come and learn. A small registration will be charged. Students with their school or college IDs can access the seminar for free.
