Central Government Announces Four-Lane Highway Project Connecting Three Districts of Tamil Nadu

The Central Government has announced a Rs 2000 crore four-lane highway project connecting Vellakoil to Sangagiri, spanning 70 km across three districts. MLA Vanathi Srinivasan expresses gratitude for the development initiative.


Coimbatore: Vanathi Srinivasan, MLA for Coimbatore South constituency, shared on her Facebook page today (Sep. 18) that Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has announced a 70 km four-lane highway project worth Rs 2000 crore from Vellakoil to Sangagiri.

The highway is set to connect the districts of Tiruppur, Erode, and Salem, passing through Sankagiri, Veppadai, Erode, Modakurichi, Vilakketthi, and Muthur. Srinivasan also mentioned that tender notifications for this project would be released within three months.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, Vanathi Srinivasan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for their continued efforts in implementing such developmental projects in Tamil Nadu. She emphasized that these initiatives aim to improve the state's road transportation and infrastructure.

This announcement marks a significant step towards enhancing connectivity between three important districts in Tamil Nadu, potentially boosting economic activities and easing transportation in the region.
