Coimbatore: An innovative art exhibition titled "Art for Conservation and Climate Crisis" is set to take place on September 21 and 22, 2024, at Clusters Media College in Coimbatore. The event, organized by Zoo Outreach Organisation and supported by the US Consulate General Chennai, aims to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and climate crisis through various artistic expressions.

The two-day exhibition will showcase a wide range of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, multimedia installations, and digital art, created by both emerging and established artists from southern Indian states. The artworks will explore themes such as human-wildlife interactions, species impacted by climate crisis, the beauty of the natural world, wildlife trade, and awareness of lesser-known species.

Dr. Sanjay Molur, Executive Director of Zoo Outreach Organisation, emphasized the power of art in communicating urgent messages, stating, "Art has the power to transcend barriers and communicate urgent messages in ways that resonate deeply with people. Through this exhibition, we hope to mobilize our community and beyond to take meaningful steps towards building a secure future for the next generation fostering co-existence with nature."

The exhibition will feature interactive art installations that incorporate real-time environmental data, allowing visitors to reflect on their personal impact. Additionally, artist talks, panels, workshops, and interactive sessions will provide opportunities for attendees to engage with prominent artists and environmental experts about the intersection of art and climate action.

Aravindan S. of Clusters Media College expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, "We are thrilled to partner with the US Consulate General Chennai and Zoo Outreach Organisation to present this unique exhibition."

The US Consulate General Chennai's support for this event reflects its commitment to fostering cultural exchanges and promoting global dialogues on pressing issues. This collaboration underscores the shared responsibility of addressing climate change through creative and impactful means.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on both days at Clusters Media College, located near Hopes College in Coimbatore. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with thought-provoking artworks and participate in discussions about the role of art in conservation efforts.

Zoo Outreach Organisation, a 40-year-old NGO dedicated to conserving wildlife, securing livelihoods, and mitigating the climate crisis, hopes that this exhibition will inspire attendees to take meaningful action towards building a sustainable future and fostering coexistence with nature.
