Hindu Munnani to Stage Statewide Protest Against Alleged Beef Fat in Temple Prasadam

Hindu Munnani plans statewide protests on 28th at Anjaneya temples against alleged beef fat in temple prasadam. The organization demands quality checks on prasadam at famous Tamil Nadu temples.

Coimbatore: The Hindu Munnani has announced a statewide protest on February 28th to condemn the allegations of beef fat being mixed in prasadam at Hindu temples. The organization's state president, Subramaniam, stated that the protest would involve breaking coconuts and offering prayers in front of Anjaneya (Hanuman) temples across Tamil Nadu.

Subramaniam expressed concern over reports of beef fat being mixed in the famous laddu prasadam of the world-renowned Tirupati temple. He mentioned that this alleged incident occurred during the tenure of Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The Hindu Munnani leader emphasized that devotees consider prasadam sacred, often taking it home to share with family and friends after offering it in their personal prayer rooms.

The organization has also raised concerns about the quality of prasadam distributed in Tamil Nadu temples. Subramaniam stated that there have been continuous complaints about substandard prasadam being given to devotees in the state. In response to these concerns, the Madras High Court has issued some directives regarding the matter.

The Hindu Munnani is demanding quality checks on prasadam distributed at famous temples in Tamil Nadu, including the renowned Palani temple. Subramaniam said, "Our demand is to conduct quality tests on the prasadam distributed in these temples. We will be breaking Surat coconuts and offering prayers to the deities on February 28th to emphasize the need to protect the sanctity of the prasadam offered in these temples."

The announcement was made after Subramaniam visited the Anjaneya temple in Dharapuram. Several other Hindu Munnani officials, including State Secretary Senthil Kumar, Zonal Secretary Govindaraj, District Secretaries Balasubramani, and local administrators Shanmugam and Karthi, were present during the announcement.
