AIADMK organized a public meeting in Kangeyam, Tiruppur district, to commemorate the 116th birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna. Former ministers and party officials attended the event, highlighting Anna's ideologies and AIADMK's achievements.
Tirupur: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) organized a public meeting in Kangeyam, Tirupur district, to celebrate the 116th birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna. The event took place at a ground on Chennimalai Road in Kangeyam, with party administrators from Kangeyam, Vellakoil, Muthur, and Chennimalai participating.
Former MLA and Union Secretary N.S.N. Natarajan presided over the function, while Kangeyam Town Secretary Vengu G. Manimaran was present.
Special guests included former minister and Tiruppur Metropolitan District Secretary Pollachi V. Jayaraman and former minister and party organization secretary Thamodharan MLA.
The celebration began with cultural performances, followed by a welcome address by N.N. Natarajan. All attending administrators were honored with ponnada (shawl).
Former Minister Pollachi V. Jayaraman addressed the gathering, praising the legacy of Perarignar Anna and his ideologies. He highlighted the contributions of MGR and Jayalalithaa in furthering Anna's principles and the party's growth. Jayaraman emphasized the role of current leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami in the party's development.
Jayaraman mentioned key initiatives of the AIADMK government, including enabling over 1000 students from poor families to become doctors annually and Jayalalithaa's scheme of providing 1/2 sovereign gold for mangalsutra to poor women for their marriages, which benefited all communities.
He also praised Palaniswami's efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the Rs. 1000 relief provided to all families when businesses were shut down, followed by Rs. 2500 for Pongal. Jayaraman expressed confidence in AIADMK's victory in the upcoming assembly elections, stating that the public would bring about a significant change.
The former minister concluded by comparing AIADMK to gold, saying that like gold becomes purer when melted, AIADMK would emerge stronger and form the next government.
