Dengue Mosquito Eradication Drive Intensifies in Anamalai

Anamalai Town Panchayat intensifies dengue prevention efforts on September 23. Sanitation workers and health officials conduct door-to-door visits, applying larvicides to water containers to combat ADS mosquitoes.

Coimbatore: The Anamalai Town Panchayat administration has intensified its efforts to prevent the spread of dengue fever in the region. As part of this initiative, sanitation workers and health department officials are conducting door-to-door visits today (Sep. 23) to apply larvicides to water containers.

The primary focus of this campaign is to prevent the breeding of Aedes (ADS) mosquitoes, which are responsible for spreading dengue fever. Officials are meticulously inspecting water storage units in households and applying appropriate chemical treatments to eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites.

In addition to the larvicide application, health department officials are also raising awareness among residents about the importance of preventing water stagnation in and around their homes. They are educating the public on proper water storage practices and the need to regularly clean and maintain water containers to prevent mosquito breeding.

This proactive approach by the Anamalai Town Panchayat demonstrates their commitment to public health and safety, especially in light of the ongoing concerns about dengue fever in the region. The administration urges residents to cooperate with the health officials and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their communities from dengue.
