To uplift the economic status of poor laundry workers, the Tamil Nadu government has come forward with a scheme to distribute gas-powered washing machines. Economically disadvantaged individuals from Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, and Denotified Communities engaged in the laundry profession are eligible to apply for this scheme.
The annual family income limit for applicants is set at Rs. 1 lakh. Interested individuals can obtain application forms from the District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Office located at the Collector's Office.
