Trio arrested for fraudulent trade practices

District Crime Branch Police arrested a trio of Ananatharaj (32) of Ramanathapuram, Saravanakumar (34) and Vivekanandan (35) of Saibaba colony on charges of fraudulent methods and methods. The trio was found to be indulging in unethical business practices of selling inferior quality oil in the name of a popular brand.

Police said that the trio had misused the label of a popular brand and packaged the locally - made cooking oil and sold it in the name of the popular brand name, thus violating trademark rights. They procured the oil locally and sold it in containers using the popular brand name.

On the complaint of Nagaraj, Auditor of the popular brand of cooking oil to the District Crime Branch police the arrests was effected. The trio was remanded in judicial custody.
