Cleanliness Drive and Road Repair Work in Appanaickenpalayam Area of Coimbatore

Coimbatore Corporation initiated a cleanliness drive and road repair work in Appanaickenpalayam area of Ward 1 on September 26. The work includes preparing ground for a new public toilet and repairing damaged roads.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) undertook a cleanliness drive and road repair work in the Appanaickenpalayam area of Ward 1 on September 26. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Ward 1 Councillor Karpagam Rajasekharan.

The primary focus of the cleanliness drive was to prepare the area near the Appanaickenpalayam bus stop for the construction of a new public toilet. Municipal workers cleared the site to make way for the upcoming facility, which aims to improve sanitation infrastructure in the locality.

In addition to the cleanliness drive, road repair work was also carried out. The stretch from Appanaickenpalayam bus stop to Jallikattu entrance had been damaged due to the laying of pipelines for the 3rd Athikadavu Avinashi project. To address this issue, officials from the Water Supply and Drainage Board and the Highways Department were present to oversee the road widening and repair work.

The damaged road, which had become uneven due to the pipeline installation, is being leveled and widened to ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety. This repair work is expected to significantly improve the road conditions in the area, benefiting both local residents and commuters.

These initiatives are part of the CCMC's ongoing efforts to enhance public infrastructure and maintain cleanliness in various parts of the city. The completion of these works is anticipated to bring about a noticeable improvement in the overall living conditions and accessibility of the Appanaickanpalayam area.
