Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS inaugurated a special guidance camp for contract sanitation workers to obtain loan assistance under the TAHDCO scheme on September 27, 2024, at the Corporation's main office premises.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS launched a special guidance camp for contract sanitation workers to obtain loan assistance under the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO) scheme. The event took place on September 27, 2024, at the Corporation's main office premises.
During the inauguration, the Commissioner distributed welfare board identity cards to contract sanitation workers. He emphasized that various welfare schemes are being implemented for the benefit of both permanent and temporary sanitation workers employed by the Coimbatore Corporation.

The Commissioner outlined several initiatives for the sanitation workers, including:
1. Issuing welfare board cards through TAHDCO
2. Registering details for ESI and PF benefits
3. Facilitating applications for Rs. 3,500 educational assistance for sanitation workers' children through the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department
4. Arranging for a Rs. 2 lakh life insurance policy with an annual deduction of Rs. 450 from their salary accounts
5. Making provisions for health insurance coverage

M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS further explained that by obtaining the Tamil Nadu Sanitation Workers Welfare Board identity card, workers can avail various benefits such as marriage assistance, educational assistance, natural death assistance, compensation for loss of limbs or eyesight, and funeral expenses assistance. He urged all sanitation workers to obtain their identity cards to make use of these benefits.
The special camp was organized to provide guidance on obtaining loan assistance under the TAHDCO scheme for contract sanitation workers. The event was well-attended and successfully conducted.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several officials, including Assistant Commissioner, City Health Officer Dr. K. Boopathi, Senthilkumaran, District Manager (TAHDCO) K. Maheswari, Zonal Health Officers Mr. Gunasekaran, Mr. Rajendran, Mr. Murugan, Health Inspectors, and other Corporation officials.
