Protesters lay siege to a TASMAC outlet, demand it be shifted out

Protesters laid siege to a TASMAC liquor outlet at a busy area in Sundarapuram, Kamaraj Nagar, demanding that it be shifted out from the busy area.

The protestors alleged that the Government is bent upon setting up TASMAC outlets inside the town after vacating it from the State and national Highways. The said TASMAC outlet is situated near a hospital and patients visiting the hospital and women are constantly in fear of tipplers who roam about the area.

Police and Revenue officials rushed to the spot and held talks with the protesters, who dispersed only after the officials promised that the liquor outlet would be shifted out soon.
