Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Minister Muthuswamy paid respects to the late Padma Shri awardee Pappammal on behalf of the state government. The minister laid a floral wreath at Pappammal's residence in Thekampatti near Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district, where her body was kept for public homage.

Pappammal, a senior member of the DMK party and a Padma Shri awardee, passed away due to ill health. Minister Muthuswamy visited her residence to pay his last respects and conveyed deep condolences on behalf of the Chief Minister and other cabinet ministers. He also consoled the bereaved family members.
