Coimbatore police arrested two individuals for stealing high-end motorcycles in Ramanathapuram area. The suspects were caught during a vehicle check and remanded to Central Prison after court appearance.
Coimbatore: The incidents of high-end two-wheeler thefts have been on the rise in Coimbatore, with numerous complaints being filed at various police stations across the city.
In a recent case, CCTV footage captured two individuals arriving in a vehicle and stealing a motorcycle parked on the roadside in Periyar Nagar, Ramanathapuram area of Coimbatore. The theft was recorded by surveillance cameras installed in the vicinity.
On September 27, during a routine vehicle check in Ramanathapuram, the police apprehended two suspicious individuals. Upon interrogation, they were identified as Navbul Rahman from Karumbukadai area and Muhammad Safwan from Kuniyamuthur area of Coimbatore.
Further investigation revealed that Navbul Rahman worked at a biryani shop during the day and engaged in motorcycle theft activities at night. The police recovered the stolen two-wheeler from the suspects.
The two accused were subsequently produced before the court and remanded to Coimbatore Central Prison. The police are continuing their efforts to curb the rising incidents of two-wheeler thefts in the city.
