Construction Worker Dies in Pickup Van-Two-Wheeler Collision Near Mettupalayam

A tragic accident near Annur in Coimbatore district claimed the life of Rasool, a construction worker, when a pickup van collided with his two-wheeler. CCTV footage of the incident has caused a stir.


Coimbatore: A fatal accident occurred near Mettupalayam when a pickup van collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of a construction worker named Rasool. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, has shocked the local community.

Rasool, a construction worker residing on Avinashi Road in Annur, Coimbatore district, was traveling on his two-wheeler towards Mettupalayam. In the Jeeva Nagar area of Annur, a pickup van carrying logs collided with Rasool's vehicle.



The impact of the collision threw Rasool onto the road, while the pickup van overturned in the middle of the road. Severely injured, Rasool was immediately rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

The CCTV footage of the accident has emerged, causing widespread shock and concern. The Annur Police have registered a case under two sections against Harikumar, the driver of the pickup van, and investigations are underway.

This incident has deeply affected the local community, prompting calls for intensified road safety measures in the area.
