Massive Turnout for Cancer Awareness Marathon-Walkathon in Tirupur

Over 3,000 participants joined a cancer awareness marathon and walkathon in Tirupur's Gandhi Nagar. The event, organized by voluntary organizations, aimed to raise awareness about cancer and showcase solidarity against the disease.



Tirupur: A marathon and walkathon event to raise awareness about cancer and stand against the disease was held in Gandhi Nagar, Tirupur, organized by voluntary organizations. The event saw an overwhelming response from the public, with over 3,000 participants joining the cause.

Tirupur City Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ashok Grease Yadav, flagged off the marathon and walkathon event. The marathon, which began at the A.V.P. School ground in Gandhi Nagar, also concluded at the same venue. The event was divided into two categories: a marathon for school students and a walkathon for participants of all age groups.



Both the mini-marathon and walkathon covered a distance of 5 kilometers. The marathon saw participation from 1,350 students under the age of 17, while the walkathon had 1,900 participants from various age groups.



In total, more than 3,000 people took part in the event, showcasing the community's commitment to cancer awareness.

The organizers awarded medals and certificates to the winners of both categories, recognizing their efforts and participation in this noble cause. The event not only promoted physical activity but also served as a platform to spread awareness about cancer prevention and early detection, bringing the community together for a crucial health initiative.
