City Corporation retrieves 1.3 acres of encroached lands

CC Municipal Corporation has retrieved 1.3 acres of lands which has been encroached upon by various private parties. The total worth of retrieved lands is Rs.9 lakh said a press release issued by the city corporation.

“The ongoing drive to retrieve the encroached lands has gained momentum since November 2016 and since then the Corporation is continuing with its efforts to retrieve lands owned by the civic body which were illegally occupied by private parties. The retrieved lands are put to use by coverting it into parks and to grow nurseries and social forestry” said CCM Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan.

“While 7.9 acres of lands worth about Rs.7 crores were retrieved in the month of February, six acres of land worth about 6 crores were reclaimed in the ongoing operation” Vijayakarthikeyan further said.
