AIADMK Trade Wing Official and 25 Others Join DMK in Coimbatore

AIADMK's Coimbatore South District Trade Wing Treasurer Prabhakaran and 25 party functionaries switched allegiance to DMK on October 3rd in Kaniyur, Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: In a significant political move, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Coimbatore South District Trade Wing Treasurer Prabhakaran, along with 25 other party functionaries, officially joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Tuesday, October 3rd. The event took place in Kaniyur, marking a notable shift in local political dynamics.

The joining ceremony was presided over by DMK Coimbatore South District Secretary Thalapathi Murugesan. The group of former AIADMK members, led by Prabhakaran, formally severed ties with their previous party before aligning themselves with the DMK.

Several prominent DMK leaders were present at the occasion to welcome the new members. Among them were DMK Sulur North Union Secretary Anbarasu, General Committee Member Durairaj, and DMK Kalangal Branch Secretary Sivakumar. Their presence underscored the importance the DMK attaches to this political transition.

This move is likely to strengthen the DMK's position in the Coimbatore South District, potentially impacting the local political landscape. The shift of these AIADMK functionaries to the DMK might also influence voter sentiment in the region, especially considering the trade wing's connection to local businesses and traders.
