Coimbatore: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) special camp, organized by 4 Tamil Nadu Battalion, Coimbatore, commenced on September 29 at RVS Arts and Science College, Sulur. This camp serves a dual purpose, functioning as both a special camp and a selection camp for the Coimbatore zone NCC's Republic Day Parade.
Lieutenant Colonel Oinam is serving as the Commanding Officer for this camp. The 10-day event sees participation from NCC cadets from various schools and colleges under the Coimbatore 4th Battalion. Lieutenant Colonel Anirban Baumik, the Administrative Officer, along with NCC officers from different schools and colleges, and army personnel led by Subedar Major Pandiyan, are providing training to the cadets.

The camp has attracted NCC cadets from various schools and colleges across Coimbatore, Pollachi, Udumalpet, Ooty, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruchengode, and Dharmapuri regions. The camp offers a wide range of activities including selection for the Republic Day camp, cultural programs, NCC classes, rifle shooting, weapons training, and parade drills.
Captain Dr. Deepak Rishant, the NCC officer of RVS College, is serving as the coordinator for this special camp.
