Hindu Organizations File Complaint Over Alleged Bangladesh Extremists in Coimbatore's Thudiyalur

Over 100 members of Hindu organizations, including BJP and Hindu Munnani, filed a complaint at Thudiyalur police station regarding suspected Bangladesh extremists and religious tensions in the area.

Coimbatore: More than 100 members of Hindu organizations, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Hindu Munnani, have filed a complaint at the Thudiyalur police station in Coimbatore, raising concerns about suspected Bangladesh extremists and religious tensions in the area.

The complaint highlights the historic Aravan Temple, located behind the Thudiyalur market ground, which belongs to 18 villages. The temple's annual festival, lasting 18 days, is celebrated every other year. During this time, festivals are also held at nearby temples such as Magaliamman, Mangaiamman, Ponniamman, and Vinayagar temples.

The petitioners stated that a mosque on the route between Vinayagar Temple and Magaliamman Temple has been conducting prayers outside the building every Friday from 1 PM to 2 PM for the past month. This practice allegedly blocks the path and creates traffic congestion, potentially leading to law and order issues and religious conflicts.

The complainants expressed that they have no objections to prayers being conducted inside the mosque but are concerned about the obstruction caused by outdoor prayers. They also raised suspicions about Bangladesh extremists infiltrating the Thudiyalur area, similar to incidents in Tiruppur, and urged immediate investigation and action.

The petition also mentioned the Waqf Board, established by the Congress government in 1995, claiming that some properties in the area belong to mosques. However, they stated that there is no proper evidence for these claims. As a result, local residents are reportedly struggling to buy or sell their properties.

The complainants requested authorities to take appropriate action to address these issues in Thudiyalur, Appanaickenpalayam, and surrounding areas. They emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the alleged presence of extremists and resolution of property-related concerns.
