Eight Students from Coimbatore Selected for National Gymnastics Competition

Eight students from Coimbatore, trained at the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority's local center, have been selected for the upcoming National Gymnastics Competition in Kolkata this December.


Coimbatore: Eight students, who received training at the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority's Coimbatore center, have been selected to participate in the National Gymnastics Competition scheduled to be held in Kolkata this December.

The qualification trials for this national competition took place on October 9 at the Government School in Karattupalayam, Erode. A total of 120 participants from across Tamil Nadu took part in these trials, including 15 trainees from the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority's Coimbatore center.

The eight selected students are:

1. Riyasri from Coimbatore Corporation School

2. Rachel from Coimbatore Corporation School

3. Saran Priya from Coimbatore Corporation School

4. Pagith Ahamath from Stanes School

5. Joy Andrea from Stanes School

6. Akshara from Avila Convent

7. Monica from Suburban School

8. Mounesh from Suburban School

The students were trained by coach Syed Ibrahim. The selected students and their coach were congratulated by Aruna, the Regional Senior Manager of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority, and Anandan, the District Sports Officer.
