Grand Navaratri Festival at Sellakkarichal Chowdeswari Amman Temple

The annual Navaratri festival at Sri Ramalinga Chowdeswari Amman Temple in Sellakkarichal village near Sulur, Coimbatore district, was celebrated with great pomp and fervor on October 11.


Coimbatore: The Sri Ramalinga Chowdeswari Amman Temple in Sellakkarichal village, near Sulur in Coimbatore district, celebrated its annual Navaratri festival with great enthusiasm and devotion on October 11.

The highlight of the festival was the grand procession of the goddess seated on a lion vahana (vehicle) through the streets of Sellakkarichal. Devotees thronged the streets to catch a glimpse of the deity and seek her blessings.

As part of the celebrations, a thrilling display of sword skills by Veerakumarar (brave warriors) was performed, adding to the festive atmosphere. The procession made its way through the village, with the goddess bestowing her blessings upon each household she passed.

The Navaratri festival at the Chowdeswari Amman Temple is an annual event that attracts a large number of devotees from the surrounding areas. The celebration not only showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region but also strengthens the bond among community members through shared faith and tradition.
