Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Waste Removal and Stormwater Drainage Works Across Zones

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted inspections of waste removal and stormwater drainage works in various zones of the city on Monday, issuing directives for swift completion.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted a series of inspections across different zones of the city on Monday, focusing on waste removal and stormwater drainage works.



In the Central Zone, the Commissioner visited the Somasundaram Mill Road area to oversee the waste removal process. He instructed officials to expedite the clearing of garbage from the area.





At the Avinashi flyover in the Central Zone, Prabhakaran inspected the ongoing stormwater drainage works. He examined the progress and efficiency of the water evacuation system in place.







Moving to the East Zone, the Commissioner inspected the Sanganoor Canal water pathway near Singanallur, Kallimadai, Kathiravan Garden, and the railway overbridge. He directed officials to immediately remove waste materials from the waterway to ensure smooth flow.



In the South Zone, Prabhakaran visited the Podanur Main Road area to assess the stormwater drainage works. He reviewed the measures taken to manage rainwater runoff effectively.

The Commissioner was accompanied by a team of officials during his inspections, including Assistant Commissioner Senthilkumaran, Executive Engineer Karuppasamy, Assistant Executive Engineer Hemalatha, City Health Officer Dr. K. Boopathi, Assistant Commissioner Muthusamy, Assistant Executive Engineer Rajesh Kanna, Zonal Health Officer Vijayakumar, Zonal Chairman R. Dhanalakshmi, Assistant Commissioner (in-charge) Ilangovan, Assistant Executive Engineer Kanagaraj, Zonal Health Officer Aandiyappan, and other Corporation officials.
