Traffic restrictions will be in place across key stretches in Coimbatore this evening (May 2) as city police conduct a flag march from Semmozhi Poonga to Tatabad between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM.
Coimbatore: Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly election counting, the Coimbatore City Police will carry out a flag march on Friday (May 2, 2026) from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM as part of security preparedness measures.
The march will commence from Semmozhi Poonga and proceed via Nanjappa Road and Cross Cut Road, concluding at Tatabad. In view of the procession, temporary traffic diversions will be enforced along the route.
Vehicles from the Town Bus Stand will be diverted via R.V. Roundana during the start of the march. Similarly, traffic on Cross Cut Road will be rerouted through G.D. Signal while the procession is in progress.
Police have urged motorists and the general public to cooperate and use alternative routes to ensure smooth movement and avoid inconvenience during the specified hours.
