30 higher secondary schools produce centum results in Thanjavur district

THANJVAUR: At least 30 out of the total 208 higher secondary schools in the district have produced centum results in the Plus Two examinations for which results were declared on Friday.

However, only two out of the total 89 government higher secondary schools in the district produced centum results.

Besides the two government higher secondary schools, 5 partly aided schools, 18 self-finance (Matriculation) schools, and 5 self-finance (State Board) schools in the district have made this feat, Chief Educational officer MKC Subashini, releasing the results at collectorate here, said.

28,699 students out of the total 31,319 students who had appeared for the Plus Two examinations in the district came out with flying colours.  As usual, girls outshone the boys. Girls secured 94.25 per cent while boys managed to secure 88.39 per cent only.

16,348 out of the total 17,346 girls came out with flying colours while just 12,351 out of the total 13,973 boys managed to scrape through the exam.

The total pass percentage of the students in the district is at 91.63% this year. This is just 1.49% per cent more than the previous year’s performance. Last year, the total pass percentage stood at 90.14%.
