Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Hosts Interactive Health Awareness Exhibition at Brookefields Mall

Sri Ramakrishna Hospital organized a two-day health exhibition at Brookefields Mall on May 16-17, 2026, focusing on Pulmonology and Gastroenterology to mark World Asthma Day and World Digestive Health Day. The event featured interactive displays by medical students aimed at community health education.


Coimbatore: In a significant move to bring medical awareness directly to the public, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital hosted a two-day health exhibition at Brookefields Mall on May 16 and 17, 2026. The event focused on Pulmonology and Gastroenterology, coinciding with the global observance of World Asthma Day and World Digestive Health Day.

By choosing a high-traffic public venue like Brookefields Mall, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital aimed to break the traditional barriers of clinical settings. The initiative was designed to engage everyday citizens in meaningful dialogue about respiratory and digestive health—two critical areas of wellness that are often overlooked in daily life.



The exhibition was officially inaugurated on the morning of May 16, 2026, by Dr. Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished panel of leadership, including C. V. Ramkumar, Chief Executive Officer, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, D. Mahesh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Dr. S. Rajagopal, Medical Director, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, and Dr. S. Alagappan, Medical Superintendent - Sri Ramakrishna Hospital.

The centerpiece of the exhibition featured working models and interactive displays meticulously crafted by students of the Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Institute of Allied Health Sciences (SRHIAHS) department. These exhibits were specifically designed to simplify complex medical concepts by translating intricate medical data into easy-to-understand visual formats.

The displays encouraged visitor engagement, inviting people to ask questions about symptoms, prevention, and chronic disease management. The exhibition also promoted lifestyle changes by providing actionable insights into how diet and environment impact lung and gut health.

"Our goal is to empower the community through education," stated the hospital management. "By moving out of the hospital wards and into the community space, we can reach individuals who might not otherwise seek preventive health information."
