Demo to retrieve temple lands from encroachment

The members of Arundhathiyar community and Adhi Tamilar Peravai had staged a demo in front fo the collectorate demanding action against a private party who has allegedly encroached upon temple lands in Senganthurai near Sulur. 

“ A road leading to Mariamman temple belonging to the Arundhathiyar community was encroached upon by one Palanisamy, who has prevented us from using the pathway and berated us calling caste names when we tried to do so,” the functionaries of Aadhi Tamilar Peravai said. 

Alleging that Palanisamy had encroached upon nearly 10 acres of temple lands in the said locality, the demonstrators demanded that the district administration should intervene and retrieve the temple lands.
