Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Day Observed in Coimbatore; Congress Members Take Anti-Terrorism Pledge

Led by Ganapathy Sivakumar, State General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, cadres offered tributes and took an anti-terrorism pledge.


Coimbatore: The Congress party in Coimbatore solemnly observed the 35th memorial day of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Thursday with a tribute ceremony and anti-terrorism pledge at Sivananda Colony near 5-No Bus Stand.

The memorial event was organised under the leadership of State General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) drawing Congress functionaries, party cadres, and youth wing members who gathered to pay their respects to the late leader.

They offered floral tributes to a decorated portrait of Rajiv Gandhi as part of the commemoration.



As a central component of the observance, attendees took a solemn pledge condemning terrorism in all its forms. The participants reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to protecting national unity, promoting communal harmony, and upholding democratic values that Rajiv Gandhi championed throughout his political career.

Highlighting his visionary efforts, they recalled the significant contributions made by Rajiv Gandhi to the nation's progress.

Several district-level office-bearers, party functionaries, and Congress supporters participated in the memorial event.
