In view of the ongoing TNSTC Transport employees strike regular bus services to hill destination including Ooty, Coonoor, Kothagiri have been affected due to which passengers are stranded in the New bus stand in Mettupalayam road.
“The tourists and passengers traveling to Ooty had to shell out extra money to private bus operators and cab operators, who have started fleecing the public in a big way” complain tourists who are at the receiving end.
Over 50% of TNSTC bus operations stood cancelled and only skeleton services are operated to mofussil towns, whereas the city bus services have not been affected.
"Even though the private school and college drivers have been roped in to operate the services, the services are inadequate. The cab drivers are fleecing tourists traveling to hill destinations" complain the tourists.
